Hineini Annual Giving Drive

A MESSAGE FROM RABBI ABBOTT

When God calls out to Abraham in Genesis 22:1, Abraham responds, "Hineini." The great medieval sage Rashi comments that Hineini is an expression of readiness. It is as if Abraham declares: "I am ready to do Your will, O God. I am prepared to do the work."

As we begin our annual fundraising drive, may we each answer the call: the call to better our community, to financially support our amazing programs, and to contribute our resources to further our BJC mission. Through your generosity, we will continue to offer welcoming, accessible, meaningful, and uplifting Judaism through our many educational, musical, cultural, and spiritual experiences.

There are many ways to heed this call: through acts of social action and justice, through regular participation, through leadership—and by financial contributions of any level. Synagogue support, fees, and grants do not cover all the amazing work we do here at BJC, and so I hope you will join us in opening your hands and giving generously.

Thank you for your contribution this year and for joining me in proudly declaring, "Hineini."

OUR GOALS FOR 2024

  • Sustain Programming: Your donations enable us to host a wide range of events and programs that cater to the needs and interests of our diverse congregation. From Shabbat and holiday services to community outreach, religious school, and social gatherings, your support ensures that we can offer enriching experiences for everyone.
  • Provide Financial Aid: We believe that no one should be denied the opportunity to participate in our synagogue, religious school, or other vital programs due to financial constraints. Your donations allow us to provide financial assistance to families in need, ensuring that all members of our community can fully engage in their faith and heritage.
  • Operating Costs: Our dedicated Rabbi, educators, and administrative team work tirelessly to serve the needs of our congregation. Your donations enable us to compensate them fairly for their vital contributions to our community. In addition, your donations ensure our gathering space within 6601 Bradley Blvd.
