Welcoming A Child or Grandchild
Welcoming A Child or Grandchild
Baby Naming and Brit Milah
Can anything match the joy and wonder of the birth of a child? Our congregation invites you to mark this special moment in your lives with us.
There are multiple options. A short baby naming ceremony can be performed during a Friday night or Saturday morning service. There is no fee to anyone in the community for a service taking place in the synagogue. Parents and the child come to the bimah, the child receives his or her Hebrew name in a personalized ceremony, and the entire family receives a blessing.
Another option is to have the Rabbi officiate in your home providing a creative ceremony crafted with parents. There can be parts in the service for grandparents, siblings, and other family members. Each service is individually created with parents inserting personalized readings, as well as music.
While the Rabbi is not trained to perform circumcision, he is happy to refer inquiries to a trained mohel for a Brit Milah.
