Saturday, February 26, 2022 • 25 Adar I 5782
4:00 PM - 6:00 PMMemorial Hall and OnlineOur February culminating Mashehu M’yuchad (Something Special) activity will be a shared event with our friends from Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church, Maqaame Ibrahim, Idara-e-Jaferia, and the Islamic Cultural Center of Potomac.
It will take place on Saturday, February 26 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in Memorial Hall.
Beginning with a Zoom presentation by Jamilah Thompkins-Bigelow, author of Your Name is a Song, it will continue with our young people (and adults who would like to participate) talking in small groups about the answers to questions like: how did you get your name? Does your name have a meaning in any language? Does your faith tradition inform naming practices? Do you celebrate holidays with your family? Which are your favorites?
Finally, each participant will create an art project celebrating his or her name to take home as a reminder of the Chaverut, the friendship we have shared.
