Financial Literacy Session Two: Avoiding Financial Scams
Monday, December 9, 2024 • 8 Kislev 5785
7:30 PM - 8:30 PMOnline OnlyThe holidays are upon us us, and along with candles and latkes (and possibly, spiked mulled apple cider or egg nog), lots of scammers determined to get their hooks into your money. And if you think it’s a problem for seniors only, think again. The FTC reports that the biggest source of complaints comes from adults aged 18-59, but scammers target all age groups, including those under 20. Whatever your age, level of education, or financial savvy, if you have money you want to preserve, or you want to help someone else preserve theirs, this zoom is for you.
ASA Hannah Gleason is a seasoned prosecutor who specializes in prosecuting financial and other crimes against seniors and vulnerable adults. She will address the new types of scams, how they target their victims, and what you can do to protect yourself and your money. Join us for a presentation, along with materials prepared by the States Attorney’s Office to help you avoid becoming a victim.
