Chant & Meditation
Chant & Meditation
At BJC, we strive to bring to our congregants--and to the Jewish community--experiences that not only deepen our understanding for, and appreciation of, our Jewish heritage, but also afford comfort and healing opportunities for heart, mind, and spirit. That is the significance of the practice of Hebrew chant. It is an experiential devotional practice that uses a melodic repetition of a Hebrew phrase from sacred text, illuminating a path toward greater understanding of our Jewish liturgy, and creating an effective way to enter meditation and awaken our inner wisdom.
Rebbetzin Yaffah leads the Chant Circle “Opening the Heart Spirit Spa” at BJC. She has studied Hebrew chant as an apprentice to world-renown Rabbi Shefa Gold, who has popularized this spiritual practice in our time.
Participation is free, but RSVPs are requested. See the BJC Now weekly announcements. Feel free to contact Rebbetzin Yaffah if you have any questions and/or if you would like to be added to the email notification distribution list.
We chant on the second Shabbat of the month.
